The parish church of San Giorgio is located at a vantage point with an breathtaking view over Lake Lugano. One section of the high rectangular building consists of a medieval wall structure. The building was last restored in 1972/1973. Adjacent to the south façade, we have the belfry crowned by four tympanums. The inside of the church was completely refurbished in Baroque style during the second half of the 17 century. Here we find depictions of the Holy Trinity, scenes of the lives of Saint George, Saint Anthony of Padua and the Virgin Mary who all have dedicated altars in the church's side chapels. The altars are richly decorated with stuccowork. The main altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary features an altarpiece of the patron saint of the church. The delicate statue of Mary is surrounded by motifs from the rosary. The altar niche opposite the statue features all wall painting of Saint Anthony of Padua framed in caryatids in the shape of angels. The altar itself has been removed. The chapel to the rear houses the baptismal font with painting of the baptism of Christ. It dates from the 18th century.
