The church of Santo Stefano stands high above the village of Miglieglia and is richly decorated by well preserved late Gothic frescos. The current choir of the rectangular medieval building was probably built later, replacing a semicircular apse. The church was renovated in 1959 and 1971. An elegant Romanesque belfry towers above its south façade. The walls of the choir as well as its arches and the cross vault are covered in frescoes dating from 1511. Of special interest is the depiction of Saint Catherine from 1479 in the transverse arch.
